For me to have a successful VBAC after two c-sections
I had to come to a place where I forgave myself
for the cesareans and forgave those who were present
at those surgeries. I had to realize that it really
didn't matter if I had two cesareans. I was just
another normal, healthy pregnant woman. I also
had to come to a place where I knew I could give
birth to my baby all by myself. I came to realize
and now know that the process works perfectly
and that my body and baby know what to do.
Requirements for a VBAC:
1. Safety - stay where you are safe - AT HOME!
2. Quiet
3. Privacy
If anything, I think those things, along with
believing that everything will go right, is the
key to a successful VBAC.
I am amazed that anyone can give birth in a hospital,
much less have a VBAC there. I personally couldn't
do it, so I choose to stay home for the birth
of my third child.
Pregnancy and birth are natural things and don't
need checking, poking or prodding. Just as our
lungs breathe and our hearts beat, our bodies
and babies know what to do. It is the same- really,
it is. Our culture fears birth so much. When we
can finally drop the fear we can see how perfectly
normal and natural pregnancy and birth and breast-feeding
are and enjoy these beautiful processes as God
designed them to be- filled with joy and happiness,
not fear and worry!!!
Love,
