"Understanding Diagnostic Tests in
the Childbearing Years" by Anne Frye
and Susun Weed's "Wise Woman Herbal
for the Childbearing Year" are my bibles
of midwifery. What one doesn't give you, the
other does. Both these books are dog-eared and
worn and I couldn't work without them."
-Gloria Lemay, Vancouver, BC Canada
Leslie Laurence and Beth Weinhouse, "Outrageous
Practices" (Fawcett/Columbine, 1994)
The alarming truth about how medicine mistreats
women. This includes references about the surgicalization
of childbirth; it likens OBs preference toward
surgery with the saying: "When you only
have a hammer, everything looks like a nail."
Order them from Kimberley
Hudson and save money: only $15 per

Marsden Wagner, MD- "Pursuing the Birth

author- a neonatologist, perinatal epidemiologist,
and former Director of Women's and Children's
Health for the World Health Organization- is
a big supporter of midwifery and homebirth.
